Mr. Franklin Coronado

Mr. Franklin Coronado holds a Masters of Aeronautical Science with a specialization in Aviation Safety and Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He earned his undergraduate B. S. from the same institution in Management of Technical Operation in Aviation with a minor in Aviation Safety.

His work experience includes cargo department and service at several airlines and freight forwarders (DHL, Arrow Air, Lineas Aereas Del Caribe, Aero Transcolombian of Cargo).

In addition, he worked for several years with the Transportation Security Administration at Miami International Airport.
Courses Taught: Aviation History, Aviation Legislation, Air Transportation, Aviation Labor Relations, Airport Management, Seminars in Aviation and all Safety and Homeland Security courses.

Mr. Albert Douglas, Jr.

Mr. Douglas, a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) retired Federal Executive, has taught at Florida Memorial University since August 2011, first as an adjunct professor and now as Assistant Professor. He is a native of Dallas, Texas and now resides in Wellington, Florida. He briefly attended Prairie View A&M College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Adelphi University, Garden City, New York in 1976. He is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute, Federal Aviation Administration Management Training School, Cameron University, Lawton Oklahoma and the FAA Aeronautical Academy, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is a certified National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Observer and is an inactive pilot.

He is a United States Air Force veteran where he received his initial air traffic controller certifications issued by the FAA. He was hired by the FAA as an air traffic control specialist at John F. Kennedy International Airport control tower and radar approach control in New York, New York. There he achieved managerial status and served as the Deputy Air Traffic Manager of the facility. Additional assignments were as FAA Manager of Andrews Air Force Base Control Tower (Home of the Presidential aircraft fleet including Air Force One), Manager Philadelphia International Airport Control Tower, Philadelphia, PA and Manager, Washington National Airport Control Tower, Washington, DC. In addition, he held several managerial positions in FAA Eastern Region Headquarters, located at JFK Int’l Airport, Jamaica, New York.

After graduating from the Federal Executive Institute, he was selected as a member of the Federal Executive Service and assigned to Washington Headquarters, Washington , DC. Assigned as Director of the Air Traffic Systems Requirement Service he was responsible for new and existing system requirement definitions, market surveys, system acquisition funding requests and vendor contract selection. He retired from the FAA in 1998. He currently serves as a consultant and subject matter expert to the FAA and contractors in support of the FAA Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) programs and projects.

He teaches all Air Traffic Control courses, Introduction to Aeronautics, Flight Safety, Aviation Weather and Crew Resource Management.
