Reserve Officers Training Corp is a comprehensive leadership program. You’ll learn the principles of leadership, management, and problem solving skills that will help you as a military officer or down the road in the corporate world. FMU has a cross-town agreement with Florida International University and the University of Miami to provide military science course to our students. You can major in any discipline you desire and your military science courses will be included.
You will create lifelong friendships and bonds inside and outside of the training environment, loyalty among your peers, and opportunities to participate in club activities. When you graduate from college, you will be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in your chosen branch of service.
Army ROTC is one of the most demanding and successful leadership programs in the country. The training a student receives in Army ROTC teaches leadership development, military skills and career training. Courses take place both in the classroom and in the field and are mixed with normal academic studies. Additional summer programs, such as Jump School, may also be attended. Upon completion, an Army ROTC graduate is awarded officer status in the Army. You will enroll in your courses at FMU, but all Army ROTC courses will be taught at FIU.
