Welcome to the Center for Teaching and Learning
The Florida Memorial University Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) advances excellence in teaching by supporting faculty as educators, scholars, innovators, and members of a dynamic learning community.
As part of the Division of Academic Affairs, the CTL provides faculty with opportunities, resources, and collaborative support designed to strengthen teaching practice, enhance student engagement, promote instructional innovation, and contribute to student success.
Through professional learning, consultation, educational technology, faculty collaboration, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, the CTL creates opportunities for faculty to explore effective practices, apply new approaches, reflect on their teaching, and share what works across the University.
Our work is guided by three institutional pillars:
Faculty Professional Development
Providing relevant, evidence-informed learning experiences that strengthen teaching practice and support continuous faculty growth.
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
Encouraging inquiry, reflection, research, and the sharing of effective practices that contribute to improved teaching and student learning.
Educational Technology Innovation
Supporting thoughtful and effective uses of technology, including emerging technologies, to enhance teaching, learning, access, and engagement.
At the Center for Teaching and Learning, we believe excellent teaching develops through continuous learning, reflection, collaboration, and practice.
