Since its founding in July 2020, the FMU SJI has become a prism for the campus of Florida Memorial University, focusing the talent, energy, and resources of the institution by cultivating student leadership, fostering faculty research, and engaging community partners in a quest to expand opportunity and equity in South Florida. The potential exists for so much more.
The vision of the FMU Social Justice Institute is to create in South Florida a society bereft of social injustice and racial disparities. Our students have taken an interest in becoming change agents and will make an impact in the world and their local communities.
