Graduates of Florida Memorial University are making amazing accomplishments!
On May 23, 2025, the Investiture Ceremony for Judge Christopher Benjamin was held at the Miami-Dade County Courthouse.
Judge Benjamin is an attorney, arbitrator, mediator, special magistrate, hearing officer, and politician who served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives for District 107 from November 2020 until November 2024, until he was elected to serve as a County Court Judge for Miami-Dade County’s Eleventh Judicial Circuit.
Born and raised in Hollywood, Florida, Judge Benjamin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Florida Memorial University in 1998. Judge Benjamin is not only a FMU alum, but he’s a longtime supporter of the university and is committed to raising the academic bar on excellence when it comes to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
In 2023, he fought hard to secure funding from the Florida Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee and presented the university with the funds for two key projects here at FMU: (1)The STEM Expansion Project Fostering Excellence in Cancer Studies, Data Science, and Cybersecurity, and (2) the Florida Memorial University Math and Writing Centers for tutoring for students.
Let us continue to celebrate the greatness of our FMU Alumni!
