Information for Delegates

Florida Memorial University is honored to have you participate in the Investiture Ceremony for Jaffus Hardrick, Ed.D., as a representative of your distinguished institution.

The following information is a general overview of the events and the logistics as they relate to your participation as a delegate in the Investiture Ceremony on Friday, March 17, 2023.  Please note that only those individuals who have been appointed by their institution’s president as its official representative may serve in a delegate capacity during the Investiture Ceremony. You may RSVP as a delegate by filling out the form at the bottom of this page. We kindly ask that you submit your registration no later than Monday, February 13, 2023. Investiture Ceremony:

The Investiture Ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Wellness Center on the campus of Florida Memorial University.  A private luncheon will immediately follow the ceremony in the Smith Conference Center.  Please click on the link to view the entire Inauguration Schedule of Events.

 

Attire:

All delegates participating in the academic processional are requested to provide their own academic regalia.   If you do not have a cap and gown, please contact the school or organization you are representing so that they may assist you in securing the necessary academic regalia.

 

Robing:

A secure room will be provided for robing that will be staffed during the Investiture Ceremony.  Delegates and ceremonial participants should plan to arrive no later than 8:00 a.m. with their academic regalia and report to Nathan Collier Library for check-in.  Volunteers will direct delegate participants to the appropriate room for robing.

 

Processional:

The Inaugural Procession will form at 9:00 a.m. from the Collier Library and the Processional will begin at 9:30 a.m.  Each delegate will have an assigned position in the procession according to the represented institution’s founding date.  FMU staff and volunteers will be available for assistance.  We anticipate the ceremony will conclude at 12:00 p.m. with the Investiture Luncheon immediately following.

 

Parking:

On-campus parking for Delegates and Investiture Ceremony Participants will be available in designated parking areas.  Campus security and directional signage will be there to direct you.  A parking pass will be included with confirmation information being emailed.   Accessible parking is also available.

 

Hotel Information for Delegates:

Area hotels are offering special rates for FMU guests.
