The Thrive to Shine fund is designed to support social work students, particularly those actively engaged in their field of practicum, by addressing key needs that contribute to their success academically and related to their field practicums also referred to as “internships”. This initiative focuses on enhancing professional development, covering costs associated with field placement onboarding and required background screenings, assisting with travel expenses, covering overall cost for continuing education, and promoting professional readiness for field placement. While addressing any other financial or resource-related needs that may otherwise serve as barriers to student success.
