Florida Memorial University is actively monitoring Subtropical Storm Nicole.
The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch for the eastern coast of Florida and the Bahamas today as Subtropical Storm Nicole moves across the Atlantic and shows signs of further strengthening.
Governor Ron DeSantis has issued a State of Emergency for 34 counties, including Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach, to prepare for potential impact.
Coastal flooding, beach erosion, strong winds, rip currents and heavy rains are expected with this system.
FMU’s Emergency Management Team will continue to monitor and assess the situation and provide timely communication of any impact to FMU’s operations or activities.
